This one tackle Addiction and Greif. Both are littered throughout the story, and how they go hand in hand with each other. Addiction is covered in terms of Alcoholism, but further how one falls into any addiction- which is running away from reality, hence grieving that loss of touch. It’s a tale of despair and depression, but it transposes into something greater towards the end, leading into the second act which is on March 21st. It’s a tale about the struggle with addiction and facing oneself, but also how one can overcome and accept themselves to become a better person.

‘A Section From The First Chapter’
“I turned right…
I turned right.
I turned right!
And yet, everything went wrong so fast.
Through the headlights, I watched fate undo itself in front of me as my car and the other car slammed into each other, like two rolling stones, cascading against each other, destroying both in the process. And in my drunken stupor, I saw it at the last second. I turned right.
And now our bodies littered the ground like constellations, connected in tragedy, as we splattered against the concrete. The alcohol had no effect, numbing me from the pain of flying face-first into the pavement. The dusk of night was illuminated by the barely surviving headlights of our cars. Through my blurred vision, I could see shattered windshields as police cars rushed to the scene, hurrying against the fleeting time I and the other person had.
Though I hadn’t seen the other people. Looking at moments ago, I was speeding headfirst into the tragedy, with a Jack Daniel’s sitting on the floor of my car. Blood dripped from my head, and my entire body was in sharp agonizing pain. Life was fleeting from me.
I looked up at the starry sky, where trees only wished to touch the illumination of the stars. I could hear the ticking of the clock as life slowly drained from my still body.
I turned my cement-like head and looked at the driver and passenger I had caught with my car. They were pale, as one was the figure of a man, and a smaller human that was unidentifiable. I felt something try to leave my body, but I fought against destiny.
It doesn’t end like this! Not on the side of some forgotten road!
I tried to stay awake, but I felt exhausted, as breathing seemed to tax me more and more. Every fleeting second served as a battle in a war I wanted to win. But was I destined to? Moments ago, I was singing to some old song, and drinking till my emotions were numbed and dead. I had done this so many times, but this time, fate had other ideas.
Still, the scene replayed in my head. I turned right…”
Each book will also have a poem, including the name of all chapters and relating to the ideas of the book;
You can turn right, But still be in the wrong
You can hum, You can scorn, You can sing along
Death will follow, but not with your defeat in mind
Simply to serve, to curate and remind
And if every decision made could have a guaranteed consequence
It would be unpredictable, but have the same sequence
Fate was made, besides any context that had lead to its existence
Surely, a paradoxical coincidence!
And as the final breath is exhaled, The winds of change will begin
And when you finally accept, crossing destiny within
And let go, finally, breathing that finally breath of the wind
And watching the atmosphere change herein
Let them hate, let them fear, but death feels neither
It simply watches, unforgiving, unrelenting
But as I said, it is neither
A force that can not redeem, but only show, Existing
Admitting.
And as I lay in this bed, accepting tragedy, fate, and myself
That. That is when the healing begins.
