About Motivated Savages
Motivated Savages was founded by Jody Savage, an author, podcast host, and longtime people leader with a curiosity about people, stories, and the things that shape us.
What started with writing and conversations about life and growth has evolved into something much bigger.
Today, Motivated Savages has three main homes:
The Indie Author Bookstore
A growing discovery platform built to help readers find independently published books and the authors behind them.
The Motivated Savages Podcast
Weekly conversations and stories with people worth hearing from.
The Motivated Savages Blog
Original writing, observations, indie author discovery, guest contributions, and whatever else we’re talking about around here.
Different doors. Same community.
About the Founder
Jody Savage
Founder, Motivated Savages | Author | SPHR
Jody Savage is the founder of Motivated Savages, host of the Motivated Savages Podcast, and author of the Maine-based mystery novel Shadows on the Road.
She also holds the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification and has spent more than a decade in progressive strategic Human Resources leadership roles, working with organizations, leaders, and people through growth and change.
But Motivated Savages has become its own kind of work.
Jody writes, hosts conversations, builds the Indie Author Bookstore, shares the work of independent authors, and continues following the question that increasingly guides the platform:
Whose story deserves to be heard today?
Sometimes that story is told through a podcast microphone. Sometimes it’s written on the blog. And sometimes it’s sitting on an indie bookstore shelf waiting for the right reader to find it.
Her work focuses on one core belief:
Growth happens when people challenge their assumptions, expand their thinking, and choose courage over comfort.
Community Over Competition
That idea has become a pretty important part of Motivated Savages.
The Indie Author Bookstore grew from a simple belief that discovering a good book shouldn’t depend on whether the author has a huge publishing house, marketing budget, or following behind them.
Indie authors can submit their books to the bookstore completely free. Accepted books are organized across genre shelves and connected to the author’s preferred place for readers to learn more or purchase.
Motivated Savages doesn’t sell or publish the books.
We help people find them.
And somewhere along the way, what started as a collection of indie books became a community of authors and readers helping one another get discovered.
About the Indie Author Bookstore
The Indie Author Bookstore is a curated discovery platform designed to help readers find independently published books and connect directly with the authors who created them.
Rather than selling books directly, the bookstore highlights indie titles across multiple genres and links readers to the author’s preferred retailer or website.
This model allows readers to discover new voices while supporting authors through their chosen distribution platforms.
Motivated Savages does not publish books. The platform highlights independently published titles and connects readers directly with the authors and their preferred retailers.
