Let’s get real. Most people are tuned in to everything but themselves.
The endless news cycle. The social media noise. The constant pinging and scrolling that makes it feel like we’re busy, but we’re not actually building anything.
At Motivated Savages, we believe in a different kind of connection. One that requires you to tune up first so you can tune in to what matters most.
Tune Up: Sharpen Your System
You can’t lead, create, or inspire if your mind is scattered and your energy’s drained.
That’s why we tune up; the way a cyclist fine-tunes their bike or an athlete sharpens their body before the big game.
For me, tuning up means unplugging from the noise and reclaiming my focus. It means stepping away from the distractions so I can zero in on the work that lights me up inside:
- Writing my murder mystery novel, Shadows on the Road. Crafting every scene with intention, building suspense, and letting the characters breathe requires headspace, and I only get that by cutting out the noise.
- Building Motivated Savages into something that empowers people to lead with purpose, energy, and bold action. That takes strategy, creativity, and relentless focus. None of which happen if I’m pulled in a hundred different directions.
A tune-up isn’t optional. It’s essential. And it starts with unplugging. Because when you unplug from the noise, you plug back into your power.
Tune In: Focus on What Fuels You
Once you’ve tuned up, you can tune in to your mission, your work, and your life.
When I tune in, I’m writing with clarity, not second-guessing.
I’m mapping out how Motivated Savages can serve leaders who want more than surface-level motivation.
I’m showing up with energy, not exhaustion.
That’s the reward for unplugging: you tune in to what matters. You put in the work, and it shows.
The Savage Challenge:
Take one hour today and do a complete tune-up:
- No phone.
- No news.
- No notifications.
- Just you and one thing that fires you up.
- Write the first page.
- Sketch the business plan.
- Brainstorm the next big move.
Then tune in and keep going. That’s how we lead. That’s how we create. That’s how we ignite our path.
Final Thought
A savage doesn’t let the world steal their focus.
We sharpen ourselves, so we can tune in to the work that makes us come alive.
This is your reminder: You don’t need more information. You need more intention.
Unplug. Tune up. Tune in.
And watch what happens.
